The Lofts at Bates Mill

The Lofts at Bates Mill is a historic textile mill built in 1854 as Bates Manufacturing Company Mill No. 2.  A complete renovation of 65,000 square feet within the mill was completed in 2012.  Facing West onto Fountain Park, each apartment has expansive views toward the Androscoggin River and the City of Auburn.  

The Lofts at Bates Mill is located at the heart of Lewiston's redeveloping Riverfront Island District includes offices, restaurants, and shops.  They are a two-block walk from the center of Lewiston's historic downtown, with its variety of shops, restaurants and services, as well as cultural institutions such as the Public Library and the Public Theater. 

Four floors of the building were converted into 48 one, two and three-bedroom apartments, taking advantage of the beautiful architectural amenities of the mill.  These include 13 foot ceilings, large windows and exposed timber framing.  Included in the rent are a fitness center, wi-fi, a community room with computers, and inside self-storage.  A solar-powered hot water system and "Green" building standards ensure exceptional indoor air quality.  Like all Szanton Company properties, the Lofts at Bates Mill is completely smoke-free.
